losing wireless connection

Sam

I have a linksys wireless g router and two computers, one
with a linksys wireless g with speed booster and the
other with the microsoft wireless b usb adapter. The
computer with the microsoft adapter works fine, can
access the internet and has a good signal. The one with
the linksys wireless g card isn't connecting. The
notification bubble pops up saying there are wireless
networks availiable, but when i select mine and put in
the network key, it doesn't connect. Every once in a
while it will connect for no reason, but it will start
out at 54 Mbps, then start droping, it will go to 48 then
36 and finally to 2, then the connection is lost. The
computer with the problem is just across the room from
the router, and the other one which works fine is across
the house on a different floor. I've uninstalled and
reinstalled the linksys card, but still nothing. What
can I do?

u could go to linksys's website and download the last
drivers for the wireless g card(cause i had a simliar
problem with mine). Install the utility that comes with
the drivers and use that to connect to the network instead
of using windows wireless zero configuration. so in order
to use the utility u got from linksys to connect to the
router u need to go to ur control panel. open
administrative tools, than services. scroll down the list
until u find wireless zero configuration service and
disable that. reboot your computer and you should be all
set. hope this helps.
