logon problems xp loop

Every time I switch on the computer I get to the login screen, I have three users on the system. I can't login on any of them. The login starts and loads personal settings then "loops" back to the login screen by logging the user off before ever seeing the desktop. I can boot up in safe mode but not install any software etc.I really need to get on to the computer!!!

I am having the same problem. It started after I installed the Service
Pack1 and restarted, then had to update some .dll files and winlogonexe from
my xp cd. Now I am stuck in this loop. Have tried to change the Admin
password and still justs loops back to login.

I had the same problem and resolve it with old Win98 file fdisk. Boot your machine with a Win98 sturtup diskete and then run fdisk/mbr. Don't ask me why and how, but that resolved my problem

I have XP Home Service Pack 1. System is NTFS. I have EXACT same Problem. Logon loads personal setting then dumps me back (either regular OR Safe mode) FDISK /MBR will do nothing for NTFS. I have tried all fixes described here and elsewhere (Replaced hives, Bootfix, Repair Console, etc) Nothing works.

I basically never get to see the desktop.
I have no restorepoints and no SNAPSHOT folder (I do have a deleted Snapshot folder with lots of restore points but I cannot UNDELETE this, tried several NTFS restore programs) HELP HELP HELP

i'm sick and tired of this too but i need help is there anyway to run a system restore outside of a profile? or how to run it in dos and how to get there? HELP!
