I recently bought a pair of Logitech Premium Stereo
    USB Headset 30.

Since installing the device the sound performance is
    unstable -- sometimes on, sometimes off . . .

When I plug USB headset in there is no sound to the
headset unless I manually switch the device and reboot
the computer and then when I unplug the USB there is no
    sound at all.

Dell Inspiron, 5100 running Win XP.

    Thanks for any help!
