If you were using the built in Administrator account, you may be out of luck.

Note: Your use of this information is at your own risk.

If you were using another Administrator account, and not the built in one.............

XP Pro: Press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice at the Welcome Screen with no users logged on. You'll get the old Win2K style logon. Enter Administrator and any password that you may have put on that account during setup.

XP Home: Boot the computer in Safe Mode, you'll see the built in Administrator account on the Welcome Screen.

If using Home Edition, start computer in safe mode (cut computer on, and immediately start pressing F8 until you see safe mode screen), using arrow keys select safemode, at logon screen choose Administrator but leave password blank (this is not your account, it is the default that comes with windows). Once logged on go to control panel/ user accounts and create you another Admin Account.
