Running XP SP2

Continually having problems with links not working in OE

Went to http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm to follow the suggestions
there and find that I do not have the following file type listed at all.

Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol

I want to put this in as a new file type. What file extension do I use
please.

Thanks WTC I have run through all those solutions several times but I
think it's because I don't have the URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol
setup properly as it goes back to it's old behavoir after a reboot.

Hi

Try this:

From Start>Run type

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools>Internet Options>Programs and
click on 'Reset Web Settings'.

I have fixed up my URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol problem.

As I originally said I had no listing for this protocol. I also did not
have several other version of this protocol version listed either.

Frank Saunders link gave me the clue that the file extension was
"Iexplore.exe" as that is where the protocol was supposed to make a
request to open up the link. So I tried that and it is back to working
order again . The other fixes using 'regsvr32' were temporary and would
lose their effectiveness after a reboot.

Thank you to those that offered suggestions.
