For some strange reason, when I go to save a JPG in
Internet Explorer, it won't save as it's real file name,
but "untitled" and in BMP format, rather than JPG.

Why is this, and how can I fix it to what it was before?

best thing to do is click back and then go back to site and try again it
work now
it happen all the time

Clean out your temporary Internet files, I had the same problem and got that
answer in a newgroup and worked for me.

With IE open click tools\internet options\Delete Files button under the temp internet files and then be sure to put a checkmark in the box and click ok and that about does it. You can solve this by not saving pics to a temp file. Instead save them to "My Pictures" or any file you choose and name. They don't have a storage limit. Good luck.
