I've lost the general tab on internet options

The general tab that used to appear following 'tools'
and 'internet options' has disappeared. Can anyone tell me
how to get it back (and why it disappeared).

If you have not already done so I would also recommend you download yourself
a copy of the free
Ad-Aware 6.0 from Lavasoft
(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/)
and also SpyBot
(http://security.kolla.de/)

In both cases run their online update before running the program.

If that doesn't fix it try:
Restore All Tabs under Internet Options
