Should I stay on waiting for reply?
By the way I am in Canada,I don't know if I should post
it differently or that does not matter.THANKS

Hi Berta

The newsgroups are worldwide. For English
speakers there is nothing special no needs to do
in order to use the newsgroups. If you prefer
a different language, then there are sets of groups
that use other languages, such as .fr .es or .de for
example for French, Spanish, or German.

You might want to use Outlook Express for newsgroup
access, rather than the web interface, as it is often more
simple to see when someone has replied to your posts.
With the newsgroups, all replies are voluntary and may
sometimes take quite a while (over a day). This makes
finding ones prior post, and any replies to it, somewhat
difficult in a web interface where one must page many times.

In Outlook Express just configure use of an ISP local
news server or use the MS servers directly by entering
msnews.microsoft.com as the newsserver.

Make sure that you are in an appropriate newsgroup for your question. For
example, don't ask a question about graphics techniques in a storage device
newsgroup.

Also, you will be much better able to navigate through newsgroup posts if
you use a newsgroup reader such as Outlook Express, rather than the web
interface you are using now (CDO).

Ask your question and logon later and read all the replies. If the
replies are inconsisent and the course of action is risky, then wait for
more replies or ask followup questions to try to get a consensus and to
eliminate malicious or uninformed replies.

Do not reformat your disk and reinstall Windows. Ask more questions
instead. XP is not 9x.

All Canadians are required to identify themselves so that they can
receive the appropriate amount of teasing from people smart enough to
live further south.
