It will not Hibernate!

I have a new computer!
Its a really good one too!

It will not Hibernate!
I've never been able to get one of these things to Hibernate yet!
So I built this thing myself with all the best parts I could come up with!
Its big, its fast, it can Network with the planet! It will even troubleshoot
my car!
But
It will not hibernate!

Well I'm using XP pro and this might have been an error in that I've found
out that XP pro has a hibernation problem! Oh man, not again!

The computer goes into hibernation just fine but when I try to fire it back
up I get the "Black Screen" of darkness, and a locked up machine!

MicroSoft says, oh well don't hibernate the machine! But I've been hearing
that there is a cure out there some where on this issue! I think what's
happening is that my graphics card doesn't know how to hibernate! As a
matter of fact this very expensive graphics card with all the memory and the
cpu fans can't even play my old games! I can watch TV on my computer though!
I don't know why I would want to do that! TV on my computer! Oh man, massive
contamination! So much for getting a high end graphics board! Yes, I did
install all new fresh drivers from the manufacturer's web site! I can now do
256 color, wow!

So to recap, I can get into hibernation but when I try to restart I end up
with a black screen and a locked up machine!

Any ideas!

I hear Service pack2 is supposed to address this problem!
Is this really true? Would be nice to have a machine that can hibernate
real! Would be a new and truly interesting experience. We would all
sit here and watch it do its thing and go "Wow man!"

Thanks!

I have a pentium 233mmx that hibernates, can network the planet, has tv in
and tv out, can burn video cd's from a vhs tape, and mine can do 16 million
colors, and cost under $150, so you better start making sure you installed
your drivers correctly and have them setup right. Xp isn't the one that has
the problem resuming from hibernation, it's your hardware that is not
properly installed and setup.

I'm having the same problem with sleep mode on a xp pro machine. It used to
work fine and then one day it stopped. It now seems to go in sleep mode but
I cannot wake it up. I''ve checked the bios and control panel for settings,
but All looks fine. It also won't hibernate. Telling it to hibernate makes
it crash.
I'd love to fix this.
