Some kind of virus, I guess, has installed itself in my
Internet Explorer 6. The left hand column of the home page
(I think this is called an explorer bar) has something
called "Search the Web" that can't be deleted. About 5
minutes after I log on to my internet account using IE, a
full page of "The Best of the Web" also some kind of
search thing covers the entire screen. I can't do anything
while it takes about a minute to load. Then, once it's
loaded I can click on the X box and get rid of it.
This "Best of the Web" page seems to be the same as
the "Search the Web" in the explorer bar. There's no
indication who runs this unless you click on one of the
things it's trying to get you to search. Then it says it's
by "Jetseeker". How do I get rid of this? Is it a virus?
Or an ad? It's really annoying. My internet service
provider says it has nothing to do with them, and must be
an IE problem. Anyone heard of this?
