This isn't a solution but rather a way to work around it.
If you right click on the link in your email you have the option of savings
it to favorites. Then you can open IE and go to the link in your favorites.
Otherwise it sounds like uninstalling OE and reinstalling it is the simplest
solution.

1. You click on a hyperlink in and an IE window doesn't even open:

2. You click on a hyperlink and an IE window opens but it doesn't load:

Re-register all DLLs listed in this KB article...

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679

Installing the latest Cumulative Patch for IE may solve the problem as a
side-effect. Check in at Windows Update.

3. Check your system for "hijackware":

Important: You *must* seek updates for Ad-Aware, Spybot, etc., before each
and every use, even "right out of the box". But even they can't catch
everything, 24/7. When all else fails, HijackThis
(http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
your files to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the HijackThis Logs forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.

[Many anti-spyware sites continue to suffer from a week-long DoS attack.
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page: http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.]

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?

What do you mean no, no, no? LOL
I said it wasn't a solution but a workaround and it would work. :)

I was thinking the no no no was referring to the right clicking etc...
So glad you were here to straighten me out. (Exclamation points withheld out
of politeness)
