Hi
I am having all sports of problems installing winXP home on 2.4GHz CPU.
I have a 80Gb HD (removable) and I boot from the Winxp CD, 512mb ram.
I delete all partions then create a single partition of HD amount.
I do a (quick) install instead of just install.
WinXP is installed but in low display mode of 640*400 16 color
I cant change the display because the monitor properties are disabled. In
fact I cant even update driver because it wont show up. I have a 17"
Viewmaster and the plug N play didnt pick this up are anything else.

Why is this so complicated, I have spent ages on this seemingly simple task.
Should I have done (Not quick) install.
I just want it installed with no fancy partitions, there is nothing on this
HD I want to keep so i can redo if need be.
This low display wont even display icons so it is useless and messy

thanks

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the Video device, Action menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the
device drivers again automatically.
