Thanks for replies from you and Ronx. I will walk thru the steps Ronx provided this evening and give it another try. In answer to the issue you raised..first I installed XP virtual machine from a Windows 7 user account. When I ran into the password problems with the FP2000 extensions, I started over (by uninstalling the XPVM) and reinstalling from a Win 7 Admin account. I did not see the XPVM asking about priveleges. It did ask for a password. I used the same password as the Win 7 accout. I think XPVM entered it's own user while installing XPVM...something like "XP Virtual Mode" (not exactly sure...something like that). The FPSE 2000 contained in the XPVM seemed to install correctly...but as you might have seen in this thread, they worked maybe once...meaning I could establish one web at /localhost/... When I would close and reboot the XPVM, I could not create another web or open the previous one because FP2003 wanted a login and password that I could not figure out and was not the ones I had used in setting up the Win 7 or VM account. When I uninstalled and reinstalled XPVM and tried to use either the FPSE 2002 from the FP2002 disk or the FPSE file: fpse02_x86_ENG.exe the installation ended in the message about a successful install. However, they server extensions did not appear in the services list or in Administrative Tools of XPVM. Since Ron has gotten his to work, I am obviously missing some detail. From Ron's previous post, I repeated the procedure but "stopped" the IIS Admin in Admin Tools/Services before installing FPSE...however, had the same results with FPSE 2002. I will sit down with Ron's instructions later and try to do exactly what he did. If there is something else that it appears that I have missed, please let me know. Thanks for your input and responses.
