insert PDF into word

i would like to insert a PDF file into a word document,
similar to the way one inserts an image. i'm not sure if
this is the right newsgroup, but i can hope. word lists
an adobe pdf as an available format, but only inserts an
icon linking to the document. it's not because i
have "diplay as icon" selected (i have toggled that
option), and i have tried the "convert" option in word,
but it is still displayed as an icon. is there anyway to
do this?

If you have the full version of Acrobat you can open your PDF file and use the graphics select tool. Simply select the entire page (or a specific area) then chose copy, open your Word document and select paste.

THANK YOU! it worked. i've been working for 3 hours on
how to get a decent looking image of a full page onto a
page in word and absolutely nothing was working. thank
you SO much.
