hi

Re Importing a .pst into outlook 2000

Would really appreciate some help. Had a bad HD problem, and am now
attempting to import a backup of my pst file.

I go to file->import-->import from another program-->.pst and browse to the
file

Up to here no problems.

Its the next screen that is doing my head in!

It asks me to "select the fodler to import from" and displays a tree in the
folder list called "Recovered Personal Folders". I have exerimented with
various options at this point. My best effort so far has managed for the
import to go though the sent items, but then it appears to start bringing in
something called "Recovered folder 8042" gets some wya through this and then
says "Some items oculd not be copied, they were either moved or deleted, or
access was denied".

What is this folder 8042 and any ideas please what I can do to get his
sorted - I want my old .pst file back!!!

thanmks in advance

Why not just copy the backup PST file, then open it from Outlook? Use of
Import/Export is not encouraged by most experts.
