Hello everyone,

I am running OL2003. I have a standard tab delimited file containing only
two fields. When I attempt to import, the spaces in the alias field seem
to be interpreted as CR/LF??

Example of file

John Doe <tab> (e-mail address removed)

When I attempt to map these two fields in OL, the left hand portion of the
mapping screen showing the actual records displays like this:

John
Doe
(e-mail address removed)

Consequently the file does not import properly.

I've reviewed this file carefully with a powerful text editor and there no
hidden codes in the file, just spaces where they should be and a tab between
the two fields.

Any help would be appreicated.

What fields are you mapping the names to? Since it's using the spaces as a
delimiter, map them to First and Last name.

The Alias field would be variable. However, I thought that TAB DELIMITED
meant tab delimited. OL seems to be seeing spaces as tabs. Basically I
have two fields, the alias or name which could be ABC MTG Co., Inc. and then
the e-mail address. While the latter has no spaces, the formers has a
differing amount.

What do you think?
