iexploer.exe Application Error

Occasionaly I get the following message in IE6

Dialog Box opens as follows

iexploer.exe Application Error

The instruction at "0x07a8f45b" referenced memory at "0x0000000". The memory
could not be read.

I close the dialog box and all is well.
Any ideas what causes the error and how to avoid it?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do

Thanks. I do run AdWare and will now do the same with Spybot and see how it
goes.
