IE6 XP corruption issue

after using IE6 for quite a while, one day i goto
log into a secure site and i get message of brouser
not secure enough. when i check under Help-About where
it says Version: and Cypher Strength: the fields are blank !
the info disapeared. when i try to re-install IE6 i get
error that says newer version already installed. i
downloaded Netscape7.1 and it runs smooth. i do want IE6
back though for windows purposes.

any help will be appreciated
