ie6 window not maximize to full screen

When I open ie6 and maximize, it does not open to full
screen. Instead it opens to leave about an inch at the
top of the screen. I can see my icons on the desktop and
can access them. Please help.
 
Try closing IE, then open it again. Do NOT use the maximize button, but
stretch the window with your mouse the length and width you want. close, it
and reopen see if that works.
