I start my browser and down at the bottom of the browser it shows connecting
to 127.0.0.1. and my home page won't come up. Each time I have to go to
Tools>internet options>connections>LAN Settings and clear the check marks
for using a proxy server. I clear them but each time I restart IE6 I have to
do it each and every time I start the Browser. How do I keep this from
happening?

It could be a prasites.

Run HijackThis and see if the following shows up:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings,ProxyServer = ????
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1

Note: where "????" = another IP address
