Hello, my name is Toan Tran.

I have problem with IE 6 and hope yo can help me. I have
win 2000 professional installed. I am the admin user on
my PC.

In the IE 6 browser, when I select Internet Options
command on the Tools menu, the error message appeared:
"This Operation has been cancelled due to restrictions
in effect on this computer. Please contact your system
administrator."

I know I didn't set any restriction in the admin
enviroonment. Also, the thing is sometime, I can open
this command from the Control Panel environment.

Thank you for your help.

Hi,
If you use Spybot S&D, open Spybot in Advanced mode and check the Immunize
settings. You may have placed this restriction inadvertently.

If not ... go to Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Scroll down to
"Various Registry Fixes" >> UnlockNoBrowserOptions.reg

Next (same page) check for parasites and other malware which may have caused
this.

Use Regedit.exe and search for NoBrowserOptions and remove it.
It is most likely to be here (but not necessarily)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Restrictions
If you are unfamiliar with Regedit, then ensure you know how to
restore your Registry in case of error and it is a good to export any
key before deleting.

Check the startup (Start-Run-MSCONFIG-Startup tab) for any unknown
items if it is reset on reboot.

You might try this snippet from Mike Burgess first if you use SpyBot:
'Did you by chance run SpyBot's Immunize feature?
If so, you can unlock by unchecking the option to "Protect IE Control
Panel" '
