IE takes 10 seconds to load when I start it.

My home page is "about:blank" so that shouldn't slow IE down. When I double click the IE icon I have to wait ten seconds before the IE window shows up. This does not happen on my other PCs, but only on the laptop issued by my employer.

You need to spot which browser add-on is causing this. Add-ons may not be visible to the user, sometimes. Download ToolbarCop from here and inspect the BHO and toolbars section. Disable the unwanted entries.
