IE Slowed Down

For some reason, suddenly IE has slowed down considerable.
it's very slow loading and very slow accessing links. It's
almost unuseable at this time. Netscape does not exhibit
the same slow behavior. I've checked worms, viruses, etc.
but nothing helps. I've tried uninstalling it through the
control panel hoping to reinstall it. It no longers shows
in the add/delete programs menu but it's still there.

Help!

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

I ran 5 spy/adware programs including the ones you
mentioned. They all found stuff the others didn't! In any
case it didn't help. I also disabled tools>internet
options>advanced Third party browser extensions. All to no
avail.
