Even now, I'm using Netscape 7 to post this thread. My Internet Explore
6 SP 1 has just recently "flaked out" on me. Once any web page full
loads, IE quits. I found this to be peculiar, but I thought it would b
easy to find the problem with the several diagnostics tools availabl
to me.

I am using XP Pro, and have performed the following without success:

System Restore Point to a date in which IE worked fine.

McAffee Virus Scan (updated to latest virus definitions) found no bugs
or viruses of any kind.

AdAware found 4 instances of spyware, but did not fix IE.

Did a disk check by right-clicking C Drive in My Computer and selectin
Properties > Tools > Error Checking.

Attempted a re-install of IE 6 SP 1. Setup told me that IE is of
newer version and Setup cannot continue.

Strangely enough the application does not give me an error message o
any kind, it just flat closes. I would appreciate any help upon thi
topic. Netscape is tolerable, but there are certain quirks about it
dont like. For example, it's difficult or nearly impossible to downloa
a file within the browser. Anyway, thanks.

Are you using ZoneAlarm and if so have you updated to Ver. 5 recently. This
latest version does not function properly and should not be installed. If
you have it remove ZA ver. 5 and reload ZA Ver. 4.5.

Thank you thus far on the help with my problem. JLee, no, I do not hav
Zone Alarm. Nonetheless, thank you for the suggestion.

I've followed several of the links and here are some additional method
I have tried.

Updated display drivers. Lowered dpi.

Edited system registry for IE - modified install value to 0 (no
installed). Attempted re-installation. During the installation phase
an error message says that the program will not be installed due to
failed logo test.

Deleting the IE cache and history as the problem could've been a ba
cache.

I'm contemplating reinstalling windows xp.

Again thank you all as I continue to struggle with this problem
