IE cannot download files

When I click on a file to download, or right-click and choose "save target
as", I get an error message saying "Internet Explorer cannot download
<filename> from <server>". This problem is described in KB 3191032, which
says that there was a fix in IE6 SP1. That fix was supposedly updated with
the Windows XP SP2. I have both service packs installed, but the problem
persists. does anyone have a suggestion?

This has just happened to me in the last few days. Is

there a virus going around ? Cant download any files.
Also like the message from Nicklas , can only save pics
in bitmap format. All other formats seem to have
disappeared. I have no idea what to do !
