IE "blank:about" startpage can't be changed

You need to go to Tools, Internet Options, General Tab
and reset your home page, rather than clicking on Use
Blank. Navigate to a page you want as your home page and
then go to this tab and click on Use Current.

Options. Instead of my own startpage it always goes to
some anonymous search engine with the
address "blank:about". Everytime I change the settings
and start IE again it has reset it to "blank:about" and
that search engine aoppears again, even offline.

i'm having a similiar problem. I have changed the homepage only to find that a minute later it's right back to the about:blank page. I have run CWS shredder, hijack, adaware, everything you can think of to try to fix this problem. The result is that the homepage goes back to normal for about 24 hours and then it's right back to the about:blank page. So there is some file inside my computer that is causing it to come back everytime i think i fix it.
Has anyone heard of this? I can only think i have some worm somewhere, i ran two different virus checks and came up with nothing.

Search your registry for the web page that it is taking
you to and delete it.

Stop visiting sites that install CWS.
