ie 6 stops responding

About a week ago I started having trouble with IE 6.
I can get into the browser and use it for about 5 minutes,
then it stops responding. It stops if you have gone to 1 page or 50.
It appears that I have some sort of timed critter.
Have run Spybot, adaware, and scanned for viruses and come up clean.
Any Ideas?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
