ie 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633IC came loaded on my
Dell. It worked fine from April thru July, but this month
it has progressively gotten to the point where it doesn't
respond; now as soon as my home page loads it freezes.
(I'm writing this from my laptop with ie 5.5.)

At bootup I'm now getting 2 error messages:

1) IEExplorer--Component MSINET.ocx or one of its
dependencies not correctly registered. a file missing or
invalid.

2) mmtask.exe Unable to Locate Component--This application
failed to start because MMVCP70.dll was not found.
Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Are these related or completely different problems?

I've also attempted to download ie updates from the
Microsoft Support site and I get a message, "IE 6.0 must
be installed before installing update"

Any help would be appreciated!
