I upgraded an older PC from WIN 98 to WIN XP Pro. I then
updated Internet Explorer to version 6 SP1. Before the IE
upgrade AND after the IE upgrade, Internet Explorer will
not run, i.e. when you click on the Internet Explorer Icon
on the Desktop (or Quick Launch Bar) the only thing that
happens is that WIN XP wants to send an error report to
Microsoft ... there is no ERROR shown on the screen
whatsoever and you never even see IE actually load a frame
on the screen. After sending (or not sending) the error
report to Microsoft the who WIN XP desktop goes blank, the
system tray icons all disappear and then one-by-one the
desktop icons reappear and the system tray icons
reappear. It doesn't appear that one can uninstall
Internet Explorer ... one seems to be able to only Disable
the Browser's access on the desktop.
I should mention that MSN Explorer and Netscape 7.1 all
work fine. Internet Explorer does not work even if I
uninstall Netscape and MSN.

Any ideas suggestions would be appreciated!

- Try running IE directly incase the shortcut is invalid, e.g. C:\Program
Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
- If there are any error details in the error report that you can see, see
