My pc runs windows xp pro and Hp deskjet usb. When installing this
printer i failed to remove the previous old Hp drivers and three icons
appeared on the right side of taskbar just close to the systray but outside
it. They concern: 1) "Add printer" (or equivalent from italian "aggiungi
stampante"); 2) Hp deskjet; 3) Fax printer driver. I checked
Msconfig\startup tab but there are no keys indicating these icons.

I tried anything to remove them i also made a search in Google.
If I right click the Hp icon and click "delete" in the submenu i remove
the printer and have to reinstall it. I cannot even drag them to the left
side of taskbar to hide them, they merely replicate.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
Ciao to all of you

At least you can hide the unwanted items. Right-click the Taskbar in a
blank area and select Properties; in resulting dialog box, be sure Taskbar
tab is on top (click on if not), then select Customize... button in
lower-right. In next box with al items in the System Tray, highlight each
unwanted item, then click on the now-enclosed status with upside-down
triangle to the right to get three choices. Click on "Hide when inactive"
or "Always hide" in the list for each . OK, Apply and OK to close.
