ICE Shield error on printer installation

When attempting to install a new HP OfficeJet printer I keep getting the
error message, "ICE Shield plug-in has encountered a problem and needs to
close", at which point the installation recovers then aborts. I also get,
"MSI Installerhas encountered a problem and needs to close". HP sent me to
SYmantec, saying it was a virus. SYmantec said it was NOT a virus. Dell told
me I needed to reinstall windows and lose everything. ANY IDEAS ANYONE?????

Did you try disabling the antivirus before you tried to install the HP
software? Are you running a firewall sofware on your PC?
