Hi,

Is there anyone who has or can point me to the hotfixes for the following
two problems:

1) USB devices are not immediately recognized in Explorer when they are
plugged in (if I quit Explorer and go back in, the drive is there). This
specifically happens to my USB2 flash drive.

2) System Restore turns itself off on a given volume when a process
conflicts with another accessing a file (no, I do NOT have a virus).

Both of these issues are documented in the KnowledgeBase and Hotfixes do
exist for them, or rather they were documented - now they say to download
and install SP2 or contact MS support. The frist I will not do and the
second is a lost cause at best. :)

Before anyone asks, my copy of XP Pro is perfectly legal - it's in fact a
corporate copy that I'm cross licensed to run at home.

So, anyone know where I can get these beasties?

Thanks...

Only by contacting Microsoft support can you obtain the hotfixes.
No one outside Microsoft has any access to the links.

You'll have to contact Microsoft Product Support Services to
obtain and install the hotfix(s).

I would suggest installing SP2.
