I need help

i am new to this xp stuff and am not liking it at all. When i go into a game room such as in yahoo i can not see the chat in the room because of this java bar at the bottom or something like that. and when i check my yahoo mail it doesnt let me scroll down it just shows me whatever is shown on the page at that moment. what can i do here?

Your description is a bit vague, and I know nothing about Yahoo chat
rooms. But I'd guess that those rooms use a Java applet, and you don't
have a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed. So go to
http://java.sun.com/getjava and download and install one.
