I dont have track changes!

Hi, I have had windows xp, and i dont seem to have many of the tools on it
that it should have. i have no track changes or insert comments, which are
really important because i spend my work like editing! I do not have a
reviewing pannel, track changes is not in the tools tool bar, i cannot even
find a reference to it in the word help! please help this is driving me up
the wall

None of the tools you mention are included with Microsoft Windows
XP. By the way, this newsgroup is for questions about Microsoft
Word. If you like have a question about Word, then it would like
help if you said like what version of Word you like have.

I've got windows xp, I am using the word that comes with that. but when i am
using the word processor that comes with it, i do not have access to any of
the editing tools, that, as far as i am aware, came with all the previous
versions of word. also, from what i can find out from this website, other
people using the word that comes with XP do have access to track changes and
other editing tools.

Windows XP includes two word processing programs: Wordpad and
Notepad. Your computer may also have Microsoft Works, which
includes a word processing program too. Windows XP does not
include Microsoft Word. Word can be installed as a standalone
program, or as part of Microsoft Office, or as part of Microsoft
Works Suite 2000 and later. Wordpad, Notepad, and Works word
processor all lack the "track changes and other editing tools"
that you mention, so you are probably using one of those instead
of Word.
