I cannot attach a file from My Documents to an outlook email

Hello! Overnight, I cannot attach any word doc from My Docs or Desktop to my
email. Upon clicking the "paperclip"icon, I get to the window with the drop
down menu. Upon choosing My docs or desktop, the window does not get
populated with files from my docs.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Not a known Outlook issue. There is more to this story than just
"overnight." Nothing happens for no reason. Tell us the rest of this story.

Russ, not trying to hide anything. I am a professional recruiter and attach a
variety of documents from "My Docs" to my emails every day. This event just
happened as described in my earlier email. Please help with suggestions.
Thank you.

What file type is chosen in the drop-down? Instead of using the paperclip,
can you drag the document from Windows Explorer to the mail message?

Brian, I am tryinhgto attach a word doc to my email. As I have said before,
Upon clicking the "paperclip"icon, I get to the

window does not get populated with files from my docs. Hence, I cannot attach any file from My Docs/desktop to my email.
Hope I have clarified the problem. Thank you for your help.

Did you try Brian's suggestion to drag-and-drop the document from its
source location into the mail message?

Also, what message type do you use (plain text, HTML), and what Outlook
version?

And I asked you to try a way that doesn't use the paper clip. Double-click
My Docuemnts on tyour desktop to open it in Windows Explorer. Now start
your new mail message and drag the item you wish to attach from the My
Documents explorer window to the body of the new message.

Brian, thank you for your suggestion....that worked. However, I still
need to find out why, all of a sudden, I cannot attach files/docs
from the paperclip to my email. I use Outlook 2003. Thank you again.

What folder does the browser dialogue show as the "Look in" location?

If the browser window "freezes", I suspect you're referencing a network
drive whose server is unavailable. Check that all drives are accessible.
