If the document is opened and the macros it contains enabled then the macros should stay with the document when it is saved as dotm. I am unable to reproduce your problem when this process is followed. It should also work even if the macros in the document are not enabled when you save it. What are your macro security settings in Word Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Macro Settings? Set to Disable all macros with notification - which will give you a warning when macros are disabled. Yet even when disabled the macros are still present in the template - though not editable. -- <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<>
