Don't know what happened, but Windows File Protection suddenly isn't
working, and System Restore can't get it back. Does anyone know
another way to reenable it without doing a reinstall?

Chk event viewer for OS details when you tried to run it,otherwise in cmd
type:Sfc /Scannow REVERT or /REVERT

Hi Dennis,

As far as I can see, it's going to be a Registry hack. Use at *your own
risk*. See this MS article:

Thanks, but I've since found three programs that'll all do the trick:
XPLite, X-Setup Pro and a little utility called SFCSet.exe.

Dennis, I meant to ask before, how did you know WFP isn't working?

Got an error message when trying to change screen savers to the effect
that some of the OEM screen savers were missing, and WFP was unable to
restore them.
