I have a Word Perfect 11 text file that I want to open in Excel. HOW???
Not possible with any Microsoft Office applications. When Microsoft finally
reached effective monopoly in office suites, did you expect they'd continue
to support the latest file formats from any competitor foolish enough to
keep trying to displace Microsoft Office?
Maybe OpenOffice supports WP11. If not, your only alternatives will cost
money: either conversion software like DataViz's ConversionPlus, or the
latest version of WordPerfect Office itself.
If you really mean a WordPerfect document, you'd need to convert the WP11
file into a Word document, then open in Word and copy & paste what you want
into Excel (since WordPerfect documents really aren't spreadsheet files even
if all they contain are tables). If you mean a QuattroPro 11 workbook,
convert it into an Excel .XLS workbook file.
