How long does your PC Stay on for?

Let me tell u a bit about mine here
the real truth is I NEVER TURN MY PC OFF!!!

Right now I would estimate that it has not been turned off since Feb 2005!!!

I think I turned it off then for a couple of hours. Obvioulsy I have restarted it many times, courtesy of Win XP! :)

For me my pc is almost the same as my fridge, because these two beautiful items are the ones i have on 24/7!

What about you?

Goes on when i get up, and goes off when i go out for a long time or go to bed - no point in it being on when no ones using it really.

Just on when im in and out when im not. Just thought, i would never worry about leaving a desktop on, but since i got my new laptop, anyone know of any reason i cant just leave that on all the time? Basically, any difference between laptop and desktop in terms of being left on?

Mines turned on when I get up, and off when I go to bed - total about 16 hours a day.

Up until recently I had four machines on 24/7. I've had every machine I've ever owned on 24/7 since May 2001.

Why? 'Crunching' protein work units for United Devices trying to find a cure for Cancer.

There are other programs trying to find cures for illnesses, including Cancer and AIDS, such as Find A Drug (FAD) and Folding At Home.

But now I have one machine for sale and I just received the biggest electric bill I've ever had in my life. So I'm scaling things down a little, but still have my main one on 24/7.

Since May 2001 I've actually completed almost ten years worth of UD work units helping them scientists find a cure for cancer.

That's sortta like saying I've had the equivalent of one computer running full time for ten years, in four years.

Mine is on and off all the time because it turns on so quickly... or perhaps I just have more patience than you lot?! ;)
