Hotmail users will have to start paying in order to access their hotmail
e-mail messages via the Outlook and Outlook Express desktop e-mail
programmes.
US software maker Microsoft has announced that it is to begin charge
users for this service. It says the reason is in order to counter spammers
who are said to be exploiting the service.
In order to use Hotmail via Outlook, users will either have to subscribe
annually to Hotmail Plus for €16 ($19.95) or to MSN Premium for €80
($99.95).
Current users will be able to use the service free of charge until April next year.
