Someone installed windows xp professional after having
first removed me. But that person typed in the wrong
password and can't remember what that password was so we
get to sign in and can go no further. But wait---thats
not the main problem. Then another person (no, not me
again) tried to install xp again and now it seems we have
both xp's installed---one we can't get pass the password
section and the other a sort of fragment xp with msn
explorer which lets us do very little due to lack of
space (44mb left due to having two xp's installed i
suppose. So---I need to get rid of both xp's and then
reinstall xp with a password that WILL be remembered
(actually,I know the password but the fast typist who
punched it in must have typed it wrong and we've tried
many combinations but to no avail). Is all lost? PLEASE
someone help me.

If you have a recovery cd that came with the computer use that to restore it
to factory condidtion. If you don't have one then you'll need to reformat
the drive and install xp clean.

*Warning - you will lose all data*

Boot to the xp cd and follow the on-screen instructions. The cd is bootable
and has all the tools to format and install.

Or,

Boot to a win9x floppy boot disk, run Fdisk, delete partitions, create new
partitions, reboot to boot disk again, run format, (or reboot to xp cd,
format, install xp). Get boot disk here: www.bootdisk.com

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of
the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of
boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
