How do I set the Status Bar permanently visible on all folders?

I have a clean install of XP and the status bar on folders does not show
without going to View>Status Bar. However the setting doesn't hold through
power off>on and I have to set it for every folder. Where do I go to set the
status bar permanently on for all folders! Thanks John I

Close all open windows.
Open just one instance of Windows Explorer/My Computer.
Set it up like you want it.. (Status Bar, Detailed/Icon/List view, etc)
Tools -> Folder Options -> View
Click the Apply to All Folders button..
(Note - if you want ALL windows to ALWAYS be like this one, uncheck
"Remember each folder's view settings" first.)
Click OK.Close that window.
Done.
