how do i set my microsoft word 2007 back to its default settings?

S

Summer

Close Word Application 2007
In C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates
Delete Normal.dotm

Reopen Word Application 2007
Word will rebuild Normal.dotm with default settings

Hope this helps.

It is never a good plan to *delete* the normal template - *rename* it to
(say) normal.old so that the personalisations it contains are not lost
forever.

What do you want to reset specifically? There are settings stored in the
Registry, additional files, and a few customizations, such as
formatting.margin defaults (if you changed any of them), are stored in
Normal.dotm (not as much is stored in Normal.dotm as in previous versions).
Knowing more about what you want to reset will help us tell you the exact
steps you need to take.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
