Operating System: Windows XP

Issue: Try as I may, I have been unable to print a copy of Artist/Song
Title of
downloaded music from "My Music". My printer is in good working order.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Hello Rick,
I am a retired guy who is just starting to learn how to
operate my recently
acquired computer. In answer to your question, I don't know what an "Access
data
base" is. I do have access to the " My Music" file - When I open this file
the lists of
songs that I have downloaded appear. I just can't figure out how to print
them. I am able to delete them or "send" them to a variety of software
programs (egs. Real
Player , Widows Media Player ) where the songs can be played and/or "burned".

Well, this is not the right place for your question. We are here to help
folks build databases in Microsoft Access, part of the Microsoft Office
suite of applications.

I don't know that there is really a way to print a list of file names from a
directory in Windows.

As far as using the files, I'd think the HELP features of Media Player would
tell you how to play a song. I'd guess you'd select "open" from the file
menu and then find your file.

Good luck,

One approach would be to "drop into a DOS window" and handle it the
old-fashioned (i.e., more than 5 years ago) way.

Use the Start button, select "Run". Type "cmd" and click <enter>.

To send your directory listing of, say C:\YourFolder to a text file, use
something like:

Dir C:\YourFolder > SomeFileName.txt

Close the command window and open the file you just created.

If you just need a hard copy of your music list, I would use the print
screen function on your computer.

Open the folder that contains "My Music". Expand the window to the full
screen. Hold down the "alt" button and hit the "print screen button". That
will store the image of that window onto the "clipboard". Now open a word
processing program (i.e. Word). Once in a new document, click the "paste"
button. Your image of the screen will show up. You may have to scroll down
your "My Music" folder and do this more than once to get all of it. But
this is an easy fix.

If you're using a player like "Music Match Jukebox", I believe they have a
function that allows you to export the music library list into another
program. But you would have to fiddle with that a little to figure it out.

Good luck.

I'm new here, hence the lateness. Download a program called DirPrinting and
your problem will be solved.
