how do I open an archived file with the .pst extension?

recently, I archived old emails and now need to access them. I can see the
files I require, yet when I select 'open', 'outlook data file' and then
select the .pst file require. I then get an 'archive' folder in my folder
list but it is empty except for to files called 'delted items' and 'search
folders'!

Can anybody help me please?

Hi Bob,
maybe you have archived only these files!

Check your archive settings on the folder(s) you archived to make sure you're opening the right file.
