How do I keep Windows Messenger from starting when I open Outlook.

Yesterday Windows Messenger showed up in my system tray and I cannot exit out
of it unless I also exit Outlook. I tried msconfig but it's not listed,
however it is showing up in task manager. How do I keep messenger from
loading whenever I open Outlook.
 
in outlook click tools/options/other and uncheck enable the prsons name smart
tag, close outlook and startup again. this should fix the problem
 
Thanks for this. Searched everwhere to try and turn it off.

Hopefully MS will make this more intuitive in the final release.
