how do I clear the browser search bar?

How do I clear the history in the search bar (of the
search engine, not the address bar).
I've tryed going into the "regedit", but the user key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\NavClient\1.1\History]
DOES NOT EXIST!!!;
thus the winguides.com response is useless in my case.
How do I clear the history in the browser search bar?
Better yet, How do I get it to stop popping down everytime
I do a related search?
 
You are quoting a key used by the Google bar, not the standard search
bar.
Have you tried IE-Tools-Internet Options-Content-AutoComplete?
