How do I change to a MIME format so I can read it?

I have Microsoft Outlook and I am trying to decipher an email that uses an
attachment that is from a Microsoft Word document .

Outlook will handle correctly formatted MIME messages. If that's not
happening for you, the MIME message is probably malformed.
