How can you find your XP Serial key on your PC?

How do you find windows installation serial key in windows XP?
I lost my CD case with my installation key and I want to install XP Home on
a new hard drive.
Does anyone know the command (in start/run)?

If it's a proprietary machine with a pre-installed OS than the key you
find will not work.......
If you have a full and it was a retail install on the old than you're
fine....

Thx everyone.
Someone told me on another forum/group.
It worked and I already installed windows on it.
