Outlook 'Import' does not recognize ACT 2005 databases. Is there an update
from microsoft?

Thanks

Hi,

Outlook doesn't have built-in importers for directly importing an ACT database into Outlook. You should try exporting the ACT contacts as a text delimited file, and then import the text
delimited file into Outlook.

Since I don't have a copy of the ACt software you are using I can't provide you with step by step instructions on how to export the information from ACT. However, I have provided the
steps for importing the text delimited file into Outlook below

Import the text delimited file (.csv) into Microsoft Outlook
======================================================
1. Start Outlook.

2. Choose the "File" menu and click "Import and Export".

3. Select "Import from another program or file" and click "Next".

4. Select "Comma Separated Values (Windows)" and click "Next".

5. In the "File to import" box, enter the path and filename for the file that you exported from ACT (Or click "Browse", and browse to and select the file).

6. Click "Next". Select the folder you want to import the data into, and click "Next".

7. If you have any custom fields in your ACT database that you want to map to fields in Outlook click on the "Map Custom Fields" button and do so. Click the "Finish" button to begin the
import.

Thanks, But Outlook did not recognize the text file ACT exported. I dont
know if this is an Outlook problem or an ACT problem. Tried exporting a
number of time and importing but Outlook did not see the text file.
